AC Shadows Introduces Unexpected AoT Crossover for Thanksgiving

In a surprising partnership that defies usual forecasts, Ubisoft has announced an virtual collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising holiday event operates from November 25 through December 22, including free extra story content for Shadows players.

Mysterious Adventure Disclosed

According to the formal statement, "A strange meeting leads protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a new adventure, where rumors of forbidden practices and terrifying metamorphoses echo through the shadows." The storyline introduces a "unusually attired woman named Ada" who assigns the duo with venturing into the Crystalline Cavern—a key location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her companion from a clandestine group.

The mission focuses on "peculiar tests and a terrifying adversary" and is accessible to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.

Iconic Locations and Metamorphoses

The teaser features the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was previously where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The trailer finishes with a powerful sequence showing a character, probably the prisoner, changing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.

Special Items and Bonus Content

Players who finish the quest will receive an exclusive katana in addition to several objects hidden throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also includes in-store Attack on Titan item packs, including:

• Titan-based attire for Yasuke
• Mikasa costume for Naoe
• Special arms
• Survey Corps steed

Third Free Story Addition

This patch also adds the game's third no-cost story episode, titled "A Puzzlement." This lighthearted quest pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they trade characteristic techniques: Naoe introduces a dramatic version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-lethal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Mystery" also features a original environmental puzzle that may eventually explain some lingering questions from the main storyline.
